Had a wonderful treat this past week . . . my sweet hubby took me away for four wonderful days R&R to Echuca/Moama on the Victoria/NSW border.
This also included a romantic lunchtime cruise aboard the paddlesteamer Emmylou . . . food, wine, scenery and company in particular, was excellent!
The weather was quite hot and the sun a little bright . . . hence the squint on hubby's face. :)
There are many more houseboats on the river since the last time we were here. The little "shops" you can see on the bank, are really holiday cabins with added fronts to give the appearance of a town.
This was the first time we had been on the bridge of the P S Emmylou and our captain did a great job of sharing the history of the paddlesteamers and the mighty Murray River.
The old and new bridges linking Victoria and New South Wales.
Captain's view of the river and the wonderful (and somewhat original) jackstaff.
Murry River Gums.
