Well the weather has been a bit brighter the last couple of days and we (hubby and I) have been busy researching prior to taking the great leap into renovating and redecorating our home. It's amazing how quickly one small question like "What do you think we should do about the broken slate on the porch?", can turn into major renos throughout the house, overnight!
"I thought tessellated tiles would look wonderful."
He replied, "Yes it would certainly give the house a welcoming look." ... "Okay, what colour?"
The conversation carried on ... "Yes, terracotta would look great ... hmm, I rather like this design, it's not too ostentatious, of course that design would also look great in the bathroom, but perhaps in black and white?"
"Well if you are going to tile the floor, we will need to change the wall tiles too. And while we are at it, perhaps we should upgrade the shower screen."
"I think we should re-new the window in our bedroom first, the wood is beginning to rot at the bottom."
"Changing the window in the bedroom, will mean you'll have to change all the windows at the front of the house."
"You do realise the fences will need painting again soon, don't you?" ... and so the conversation continued, long into the night.
So now, I am not just looking forward to my daughter's wedding, but also to beginning all the renos!

Sandi, your mind must be in a whirl, with wedding and a reno. The problem with Reno's is how do you know when to stop.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting. I know it's a lot of work, but sooo much fun too.
ReplyDeleteLike the black and white tiles, you have your work cut out for you. Tee Hee!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting Sandi!!! Will you and hubby be doing the work yourselves? Oh goodness I know what you're in for ...the disruption and the mess BUT...it will be worth it in the end. Love those tiles! Good luck with the decisions and have fun with the planning :)
